Over the last three years, Canuck Place has been using Help for Charities e-philanthropy solution services to help provide exciting new giving options that allow our donors to make secure online gifts, as well as to use social networking tools to become fundraisers on our behalf. As a result, our online donations have soared!

Using Help for Charities tools, our donors can send a personalized e-card when making a tribute gift or purchase a Precious Gift from our wish list catalogue of tangible gifts needed at our hospice to provide comfort, care and joy to children with life-threatening illnesses. Our supporters can pledge a participant in our annual Adventure Challenge fundraiser, or set up their own personal fundraising page and email their friends and family to support their favourite cause in honour of a special occasions, such as a birthday, wedding our anniversary. Our corporate and employee giving programs have also increased with the development of an event site that gives groups the ability to host and manage their 3rd party fundraising events online.

Overall, our donors have really embraced these creative e-philanthropy tools which are fun to use, convenient and secure, and provide automatic electronic tax receipts that are cost-efficient and environmentally friendly. The backend administration system, canned reports, tech support and webboard, also make these programs easy for our fundraising staff to manage and track results.

“I want to thank you for your support on this project. I’m not the most computer and web literate person in the world, but you were able to guide me through this process quite nicely and I’m really pleased with the outcome.”

“I was initially skeptical about working with the discussion board to communicate on this project. But what a great tool that is. It was really helpful to have all the past messages readily available for reference. I’m a big fan of the board now.”
